Why the date can differ by a day
These dates are expected dates from the Umm al-Qura calendar, the calendar Saudi Arabia publishes. A new Islamic month begins when the new moon is sighted, or by calculation, depending on the country and its religious authority. So the start can fall a day earlier or later where you live. Follow your local mosque or national authority for the day you fast and the day you celebrate.
