IslamWorldHQ is an independent English-language site that explains Islamic topics clearly: duas and adhkar, Umrah and Hajj, the Seerah and Islamic history, and zakat and everyday money questions. It is based in the Netherlands and written for Muslims in the UK, the US, Canada, Europe and Australia.
The aim is simple: give you a clear, sourced answer without hype or arguments. Short answer first, detail underneath, sources linked.
What you’ll find here
- Duas. Duas and adhkar for daily life, with the meaning, the occasion and the source.
- Umrah. Umrah and Hajj step by step, with travel and packing guidance.
- Heritage. The Seerah, the Sahaba, the four imams and Islamic history.
- Zakat. Zakat and Islamic finance explained as education.
- Seasons. Ramadan, Eid, Dhul Hijjah and Muharram, with expected dates and timetables.
- Topics. Search a topic such as divorce, the rights of women, children or prayer, and read the Quran verses and the hadith from Sahih al-Bukhari and Sahih Muslim on it, in Arabic and English.
- Tools. A zakat calculator, a missed prayer tracker, a Hijri date converter and a Quran in 30 days planner, plus printable planners and checklists.
How we handle religious questions
We follow the mainstream Sunni schools. Where the four schools (Hanafi, Shafi’i, Maliki and Hanbali) differ, we show what each says side by side. We do not issue our own fatwas, and nothing here replaces a qualified scholar. For your own situation, please ask a scholar you trust.
Quran verses are shown from a verified copy of the text, with the Sahih International translation. Hadith are quoted only from Sahih al-Bukhari and Sahih Muslim.
Ownership and funding
IslamWorldHQ is owned and run by OBY. It is funded by advertising. No company, organisation or person pays for coverage or has any say over what we publish.
Who runs this
I’m OBY, editor of IslamWorldHQ. I set the rules the writing system follows, I review articles, and I correct mistakes. I am not a scholar and I don’t present myself as one.
How the articles get written
Articles are written with AI assistance and reviewed by a human editor. Every article links to its sources. The full process is on the Editorial Policy page.
